December 23, 2023 Annual Christmas Drive Brings Joy to West Gartfield Parks Off The Street Club

HUEN MAKES A MEANINGFUL DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND TEENS

In the heart of West Garfield Park, Illinois where the challenges of crime, gangs, and drugs persist, the Off the Street Club (OTSC) stands as a beacon of safety and hope for more than 3,000 local kids and teens. Amidst these daily threats, OTSC offers a haven for children to learn, laugh, and play without worry.

For decades, Huen  has been a steadfast supporter of this vital community organization. Each year, Huen organizes a Christmas gift drive for OTSC, bringing festive cheer and tangible joy to the lives of the young members of the club.

OTSC members visit Huen to express their gratitude and share how the club has profoundly impacted their lives. Many of them have family members in prison or have experienced other trauma. In the spirit of the season, they sing Christmas songs, creating an atmosphere of warmth and unity.

Among the gifts that bring smiles to their faces are the 30 Day-Out envelopes. These thoughtful packages include a $20 bill for transportation, a movie ticket, and a restaurant gift certificate. For the younger ones, the delight comes in the form of baby dolls and motorized cars.

Huen’s commitment to supporting OTSC not only during the holiday season but throughout the year underscores the power of community collaboration in creating positive change. To learn more about Off the Street Club and their impactful work, visit their official website.

In a neighborhood often faced with adversity, the annual Christmas gift drive serves as a reminder that, together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these resilient children and teens.
