1983 – HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Founded in 1983, Huen Electric evolved as a struggling start up electrical construction company in Chicago under the direction of Mike Hughes into a national presence in the industry. Over the decades, Huen earned a reputation as a dynamic, initiative-taking, and resourceful electrical contracting and engineering company that succeeds at challenging projects.

As a company, we have assisted the children at Off the Street Club, the Boy Scouts, the people at Misericordia, and many other organizations. Mike encouraged social responsibility in the form of financial assistance and volunteerism to help meet the world’s most difficult challenges and to help us grow as individuals and progress as a company.

1994 – HELPING SHAPE CHICAGO’S SKYLINE

Huen’s electricians, estimators, and engineers have played integral roles in building some of Chicago’s most notable locations such as Navy Pier (1994), Cook County Hospital (1998), Millennium Park (2000), and Soldier Field (2003), just to name a few from the extensive list of iconic projects we were a part of that helped shape the Chicago skyline.

2001 – EXPANSION TO NEW YORK STATE

Established in 2001, Huen New York is known as one of the top electrical contractors in upstate New York. The company continues to experience solid growth and attract more complex project assignments. The locally staffed and managed company aggressively pursues commercial and industrial projects ranging from educational facilities to federal government military projects, healthcare, and CHP plants.

2007 – ADDING A THIRD REGION

A strong management team and highly skilled professional staff quickly established Huen New Jersey as a premier electrical contracting company within the state since its opening in 2007.

The company successfully carved a niche in clean energy assignments while also pursuing projects ranging from healthcare to commercial, higher education, distribution centers, and mission-critical facilities. Most projects are design-build or design-assist. Today’s management team continues that tradition to best serve our clients.
